Artist Statement - Safe Spaces
I
In terms of human frailty, some often seek solace in the most vulnerable
sanctuaries. Many humans return to a natural environment to find
focus. Like being in the womb, it’s at that point we are at our most
vulnerable. Security may be found in the quiet chaos of a sublime entity we
cannot control. The sound of roaring liquid, gentle and unrelenting,
inspires a thrilling release of our will. The awe of the familiar unknown
washes over us.
We are lulled, fragile, engulfed, wonderfully helpless and reconciled with
the chaos.
